I agree with Rogue on equality. I personally believe the term feminism has been done in for developed countries. It's still very valuable in places like Africa and Mideast, etc. But the term feminism won't be used if there's an uprising anymore. It's been butchered by radical feminists who ran out of things to be feminist about. |

I disagree with that. Even in the western world gender inequality is still very apparent in the work place, in the media and in sports. Feminism still has it's place. However radicalism is not the way to combat inequality. |

You're disagreed with my wording more than my ideology. Equality = good What modern feminism has become = bad. If feminism meant what it used to be then it would be my political stance as well. |

Pardon my ignorance - but what has modern feminism become as compared to old feminism? I thought it would have been the same thing? My guess is that it's just slowly become socially unacceptable to muzzle free speech as compared to what it was 10, 20, 30 years ago?

If you look it up in the dictionary it's the same meaning but you're on the right track. In the name of "feminism" men's rights clubs haven't been allowed to meet because "feminists" (group leaders, club leaders) all crowded and created a chain to stop them from meeting. That's what they generally accept as being feminism. If you've noticed I'm definitely generalizing but I need to in order to display the negative connotation feminism has today. I prefer terms like "equality" |

There are three waves of feminism - first wave, second wave, and third wave. You can look them up on Wikipedia. Currently, we are in the third wave, which still has a lot of validity if you actually look into it. We are by no means equal, and there is a lot to be fought for. Along with women's rights and equality, modern feminists also fight for gay rights and sexual rights. |

Had a quick read about the third wave (On lunch break from work at the moment) - and I agree, still has a lot of validity to it. Especially gay rights - the whole thing about not letting gays or lesbians marry is just not right in my opinion. Thanks for the clarification. |
